佛州当地警方称，劳德里的家人周五找到他们，告知他们最后一次看见劳德里是周二，当时他背着双肩背进入Carlton保护区，之后再也未现身。家人称对于他的下落感到担忧，并表示希望建立失踪报告。

佩蒂托来自纽约州长岛，犹他州警方周四公布了一段录像，显示在她失踪的几周前，她曾与未婚夫发生争执。
摩押市（Moab）警察局公布的视频拍摄时间是8月12日，一个月后，加布里埃尔“加比”佩蒂托（Gabrielle "Gabby" Petito）被家人报告失踪。
